…As I rolled to my feet and started running I looked up at the road ahead of me. The one time that I get caught out by the zombies has to be the day that they bring out the artillery. Not only was I heading for a handful of regular zombie but also the largest bipedal creature that I had ever seen. This thing was ten foot tall and six foot wide. It was a juggernaut; there was nothing else that it could have been. I didn’t know what was going on but it was clear that whoever was in charge of this not so little experiment was stepping it up a level. There was very little that I could do at this point, the Juggernaut in front and Hound behind, I had to make a decision should I turn around and risk Hound or do I go on and hope that there’s a way around Juggernaut. Having just seen Hound burn down a building and jump effortlessly onto a six foot wall I felt that it was worth the risk against this unknown threat…

Recall

Finally I have some more time to recap some more of what has been happening.
So as I was looking out of the window this abnormally advanced zombie locked eyes with me and set its lips in a sneer revealing its jagged teeth. There were only two exits from the house, out the front door directly into the mass of zombies or out the back. I knew that the back door led out into a walled off garden. It was unlikely that there would be zombies back there as it was walled off and backed onto the gardens of the next row of houses. I scrambled through to the back of the house, grabbing my bag on the way through. I eased the door open and carefully checked that the garden was zombie free. Luckily for me it was. The garden backed onto the gardens of the row of terraced houses behind the bungalow. These gardens only had low fences between them which was both a blessing and a curse. Although it meant that I would be able to move from garden to garden more easily it also meant that any zombies would also be able to travel from garden to garden more easily. The terraced housing meant that the gardens weren’t visible from the road so I wouldn’t be seen by any zombies milling around on the roads. I could hear the zombie at the front of the building trying to breach the door to get to where I’d been seen. I jumped the wall into the gardens of the terraces and made my way as quickly to the end as I could whilst still being on guard. As I reached the last garden in the row a bellowing scream of rage filled the air stopping me dead in my tracks. I looked back the way I had come toward the bungalow, to my surprise I saw smoke and flame reaching up into the sky. Suddenly the large zombie, who I have named Hound, jumped up onto the wall at the back of the garden. Silhouetted by the flame he turned his head towards me and let out another bellowing scream. This second scream brought me back to my senses, without a second thought I scrambled over the final wall and fell into the street. I rolled onto my feet and started running. I knew exactly where I was going. On the other side of the residential area, back towards the business district, there were several blocks of flats. I knew that the ordinary zombies would struggle with the stairs so it would be a relatively safe place. I would just have to hope that I could lose Hound on the way. In my hurry to get away from Hound I had not stopped to see if there were any zombies in the street that I had just entered. Unfortunately there were…

I'm Back

I don’t know if this message will reach anyone but I will try. It has been almost two months from my last message and a lot has happened. I have a more permanent base now meaning that I should be able to update more frequently. I shall start from where I left off last time. The light was beginning to fade and the building that I was in was too exposed, as soon as it got dark enough it would be swarming with zombies. I was in an office building on the edge of the city’s business sector, the main bulk of the zombies tended to come from the centre of the business sector so it was best to head away from there. I cut through to a row of shops so that I could top up on supplies. I figured that I had about twenty minutes until the zombies stated coming out and about an hour until the city would become overrun. I quickly ducked into one of the shops and filled my backpack with supplies; I was no more than three minutes. As I went to exit the shop I thought I saw someone out in the street, from the doorway of the shop I scan the street. To my surprise I see that the zombies are already stumbling about out of their daytime hideaways. It must have been one of these that I saw out of the window. Their appearance would of course make my journey more dangerous. I know where I was going, I had three or four night bases set up around the city two of the were residential area close to the shopping district. I headed to a house avoiding any confrontation with the zombies. This particular building was a single story bungalow, although not the most ideal place it was the closest and with the increased zombie activity I felt it best to stay off of the streets. The light was almost completely faded now, about the time that most of the zombies normally came out of hiding. I refuelled and settled down for the night. I'm not sure what woke me up, if it was a noise or just an uneasy feeling, but I woke up in pick black at around 2AM. I carefully crept to the window to see in anything was happening out side. What I saw outside then still sends a shiver down my spine. Initially I didn't think there was anything abnormal but as I looked longer I realised that there were a lot more zombies gathering out on the street than normal. Either there was something out there drawing them in or they knew that I was there. Then I saw it standing in the centre of the zombies. At first I thought that it was just a really tall zombie but as I studied it I realised that it was more than just a normal zombie. This thing didn't have the usually pale skin with chunk of flesh falling off; this thing was dark and muscled. It wasn't a normal man but you could have easily been fooled. As I was watching it slowly turned around to face me. Although it wasn’t falling apart like the other zombies it had fresh crimson wounds exposed on its chest and white scars crisscrossing its face. Its face with eyes locked directly with mine. As it saw me it slowly smiled revealing it jagged teeth.
I’ll have to stop now as we have to go out on patrol, but I will update soon if I can…

Reconnection

Finally I have found another connection. It’s been almost a month since I first made contact. In that time I have been scouting the city. Over the last month and a half I had been unable to explore much of the city, but in the last week something else seems to have taken the zombies attention off of me. This could mean that they have tired of the chase or that others have been introduced and they have new game. I have been able to explore about one quarter of the city. It seems to be set out as any city into districts with business area, recreational areas, residential areas and shopping areas. I have not been able to explore as much as I would have liked in the past week because although the zombies do hide in the daylight hours they are still able to venture out if necessary. The light appears to affect their senses but not their physical form. The light is again beginning to fade so I must find shelter but I will keep updating this site whenever I can…

Contact

Greetings surface dwellers. I don’t know if this message will get through to you as I have a limited signal. I am unable to make contact with anyone on the surface. I have been trapped in some sort of underground city. I believe that it is a government research project. Its purpose is one of two things. It is either to test the strength of their mutations or to see if the human race can fight off a zombie invasion. Either way I have been trapped here for a month now, this facility is huge; it stretches out for miles in each direction. I am not sure if there are any other people down here, I know that there are animals down here because I have come across some, but other than this I am unaware of what is going on. I don’t have much time now as it will be dark soon, (there is an artificial lighting system), I must find somewhere to shelter before the zombies find me. I will try to communicate again if I can…
